MIKADO olive oil

Olive oil is one of the main ingredients of a healthy diet and the staple of the sunny Mediterranean cuisine. MIKADO olive oil of the highest quality (Extra Virgin) is rich in monounsaturated fats (the most useful of the fats). If combined with a low-calorie diet, it fights heart diseases, diabetes and obesity, reduces artery-clogging cholesterol and boosts immunity. It does not contain cholesterol and includes substances called flavolines, vitamins and antioxidants. Olive oil aids the assimilation of anticancer carotenoids that are found in many Mediterranean vegetables and fruit. So serve vegetables sprinkled with olive oil. You can use MIKADO olive oil of the highest quality (Extra Virgin) in many appetizing recipes: it goes well with salads, pasta and grilled dishes that is to say those dishes in which olive oil aroma and taste is really palpable and important. Ordinary oil is a mix of extra virgin and refined oils. It can be used for sautéing, marinading and grilling.

Try the following ideas:

  • serve freshly cooked pasta with MIKADO olive oil
  • sprinkle MIKADO oil in soups for extra fragrance
  • douse freshly boiled vegetables in MIKADO oil, season them with black pepper and fresh lemon juice
  • use it to marinate olives. Drain the brine in which they were sold, add crushed garlic in the oil, sliced chilli pepper and fresh herbs, for example rosemary. Marinade it for 2 hours
  • replace sunflower oil with olive oil in creamy hot potato purée
